where'd it go?

during roadtrips as a kid, i'd sneak my arm out of our cherry red astrovan and let it ride the wind. my mom, of course, would shriek and scold me. i kept doing it until one day she said those magic words.

"your arm's going to get ripped off."

i freaked. from then on, my arm was going to stay inside these shiny steel walls of protection. i wasn't about to lose my beloved appendage.

eventually, i decided my mom overreacted and she was just trying to scare me. i started to stick my arm out again. they were happy - my arm and the wind, dancing around together.

that is until i read this - "man loses arm waving at girls."

motherfuckers. she was right!

this 20-year-old in australia had to have his arm amputated after getting side-swiped by another car, while he waved at two girls at a car wash. the accompanying picture and caption on this page is just too good. cheeky bastards.

on a related note, i also remember while on a roadtrip to santa maria/san luis obispo, my brother and i spotted a truck full of farm animals, namely pigs. us city kids got excited and started oinking at the pigs through the open window.

i, being the lucky fool that i am, was contentedly oinking away and i straight up oink at a motorcycle cop driving by. fitting, eh?
