all that she wants.

there's a particular 4 or 5 block radius near broome & allen that i'm especially fond of.

reasons why:
1. lolita bar (velvet hammerssssss)
2. vanessa's (dumplingssssssss)
3. happy ending (danccccccccccing + more drinkiiiiiing)

the last of which i was at tonight to enjoy the june installment of "how i learned..." this month's title was "how i learned music could change my life" and featured rob sheffield, erin bradley, ben lerman and daniel nester. all great writers/performers (rob's new book is out next month! get it get it get), but the one i must talk about is mr. ben. he's a ukelele-playing performer/ comedian who played this song:

(fyi - it sounded better acoustic.)

anyways, that reading ended and i thought i had my last bit of ace of base nostalgia for the day (even if it was twisted), when I walk by lolita to hear a familiar beat blasting from the door.

i just cant get away.

this is what i get for being obsessed with them when i was in grade school. (uhhhh who had their music video collection on vhs?? i did, i did!)

and this is when i realize i probably shouldnt share these kind of things in public. oh well. (ace of base FOREVER!)
